Are you tired of constantly reacting to your child’s most puzzling behaviours without understanding the root cause?
This 12-module course will help you move beyond simply managing behaviours by addressing what’s really going on beneath the surface. Created by Robyn Gobbel and based on the USA best-selling book of the same name, Raising Kids with Big, Baffling Behaviours: A Course for Parents will make sense of your child’s actions – even the ones that seem inexplicable. You’ll gain practical tools and techniques that can genuinely make a difference in your parenting journey.
This course takes a compassionate, non-judgemental approach to parenting. It’s designed to ensure that by the end, you won’t just have learned new strategies – you’ll be able to confidently use them in real life.
While this course is valuable for all parents, it is particularly beneficial for those whose children have sensitive nervous systems and behaviours that can be hard to understand. This includes children with a history of trauma or stress (such as foster care or adoption), as well as children who are neurodivergent, gifted, have sensory processing differences, or neuroimmune disorders. If you’re unsure why your child might have a vulnerable nervous system, that’s perfectly OK – this course is for you, too.
The three core principles of Raising Kids with Big, Baffling Behaviours:
1
Behaviour is a clue
What we see on the outside offers insight into what might be going on internally for the child.
2
We all need connection to thrive
If your child’s behaviour is pushing people away, it’s important to pause and ask, “What might be happening here?”
3
Children who feel regulated, connected, and safe behave better
To help change your child’s behaviours, we’ll focus on improving their sense of regulation, connection, and safety.
Course Sections
Section 1 – Becoming the Expert on Your Child’s Behaviour
Using the latest science about human behaviour and relationships, this section will help demystify even the most confusing behaviours. You’ll develop a new way of interpreting your child’s actions, which will become one of your most powerful tools in parenting.
Section 2 – Addressing Behaviours with Practical Tools
In this section, your parenting toolbox will be filled with effective strategies for the brain, body, and sensory needs. These techniques will help strengthen your child’s nervous system and reduce challenging behaviours. By the end, you’ll know which interventions to use and when to apply them.
Section 3 – Why Knowing Isn’t Enough
Many parents feel stuck between learning new parenting skills and actually being able to put them into practice. In this section, we’ll explore how to build your tolerance for baffling behaviours so that you can parent with greater patience and understanding.
